What happens in a home visit? ⬇️
🌼 Initial assessment 🌼
1️⃣ We’ll chat about what’s been going on for you. Maybe your baby is struggling to latch, feeding is painful, or you’re pumping around the clock but your milk supply is still dropping. Whatever your concerns are, I’ll ask for allll the details before we start exploring what could help.
2️⃣ If there are any concerns around latching, I may observe a feed. I’ll check for signs that your baby is drinking milk, see how they latch on, and potentially offer some suggestions to tweak things.
3️⃣ We’ll create a plan together about what you could do moving forwards. Sometimes a simple adjustment is enough to get you on the right track. Other situations require a step-by-step plan, and I’ll hold your hand along the way. I’m here to offer options, not just give you a list of what you “should” do. A good plan leaves room for flexibility and should leave you with more clarity about what to do next.

Follow-ups are a chance for us to:
➡️ Assess how things have progressed since we last met
➡️ Consider whether your plan needs changing
➡️ Practice feeding skills together
➡️ Chat about how you’re feeling mentally & emotionally
